A Place of Rest, Renewal, & Reconciliation

Warriors Rest, a 2018 Grant Recipient, extends the invitation that Jesus offered over 2000 years ago in Matthew 11:28-30. Jesus said, “come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

In 2017 the Tommy Tuberville Foundation launched a project called Warriors’ Rest, in an outpost located about 50 miles west of Fort Benning, Georgia. We are committed to improving the lives of military veterans or transitioning military by providing a safe place to rest, recover, and begin living with a renewed sense of purpose.

Imagine a place for veterans to rest and recover from the heaviness of life; a safe place to draw near to God, renew their commitment to Christ, and learn the unforced rhythms of God’s grace. The future veterans of Warriors’ Rest are going to be surrounded by men of God that love them and care deeply about their needs. They will join an eternal brotherhood that will empower them to become the warrior leader God created them to be.
